Harry Halloran - Founder

Harry Halloran - Founder

Harry Halloran is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of American Refining Group. He is also the Chairman and CEO of ARG Resources. Mr. Halloran is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Civil Engineering. After graduating, he entered the Augustinian seminary for four years and earned an M.A. in Theology.

Harry is the founder and CEO of Energy Unlimited, Inc. a company involved in the renewable energy field and has served on the Board of The American Wind Energy Association. Other past positions include Trustee of Villanova University, College of Commerce and Finance, and Trustee of The Academy of Natural Sciences. He is also the Founding Trustee of The Enlightened World Foundation and the Halloran Foundation.

He founded the Halloran Philanthropies in 2007 with the belief that business is one of the most powerful drivers for positive social change. The purpose of the Halloran Philanthropies is to help create a healthier world community that promotes economic development through microfinance, clean energy, global ethics and community service to revitalize low-income communities throughout the world.

Tony Carr - President

Tony Carr - President

Prior to his current position, Tony had a successful career in healthcare as a Hospital CEO and entrepreneur. He has managed joint ventures between health organizations, strategic planning, business development, physician relations and marketing.  He served as the CEO of the first surgical hospital in the Nation and CEO of the first community-owned Heart Hospital in California. He has received numerous honors and awards for quality and service excellence, entrepreneurship and innovation and was awarded the "Innovator of the Year" by the American Hospital Association ... Tony has made numerous presentations across the country and has been published in several healthcare journals. Tony brings a spirited passion to his endeavors that combine respect for the individual and a deep understanding of the power of collaboration.

Adriana Fernandes Halloran - Advisor

Adriana Fernandes Halloran - Advisor

Adriana is one of the founding members of Halloran Philanthropies, helping to define the mission and goals of the organization and currently serves as an advisor with special focus on India and Brazil. Passionate about social innovation and women empowerment, Adriana has added a solid emphasis on community economic development to Halloran Philanthropies. She has been deeply involved with Financial Inclusion in Latin America, Rural Community Enterprise Development in India and Women’s Cooperative in Mexico. Prior to Halloran, Adriana launched a women’s empowerment program in Angolain association with a local school. She also worked for World Vision Brazil, assisting the development and evaluation of national strategies for the organization. Adriana holds a BA in International Relations and a MS in International Community Economic Development. Adriana is a native of Brazil living with her husband Brian in Brooklyn, NY.

Mark Beam - Advisor

Mark is a Co-Founder of the Social Capital Markets Conference on money and meaning in San Francisco and a member of the Board of Directors of the Buckminster Fuller Institute that awards $100k annually to designer/scientists solving humanities most pressing problems.  Together with Calvert Founder Wayne Silby, Mark initiated a proposal to the Obama Administration to create the Enterprise Innovation Fund within the U.S. Government designed to foster social enterprise development through investment partnerships with private sector initiative and risk capital participation.  Before turning his attention to the development of the social capital markets, Mark was a senior executive for several major Wall Street banks in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, and a new media entrepreneur in San Francisco. He continues to live in Oaxaca with his two sons Weston & Sky.

Mark Campanale - Advisor

Mark has worked in the sustainable financial markets since 1989 and is an advisor on impact investing to Halloran Philanthropies. He works on incubating and developing social impact investment strategies and building market infrastructure, including funds focusing on renewables (for GVEP) and social ventures (for Big Issue Invest). He is a director of The Social Stock Exchange funded by Rockefeller Foundation with the support of Halloran Philanthropies; a representative on membership bodies such as the Advisory Council of GIIN (UK) and the international Advisory Board of ImpactBase, the sectors funds database of impact funds. Mark is a regular speaker on events on social finance such as SoCap and the Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship and serves on the Advisory Board member of 3iG, the International Interfaith Investment Group;and is an Advisor to Big Issue Invest, the social venturing arm of the Big Issue.

Audrey Selian - Advisor

Audrey Selian - Advisor

Audrey has been active in the impact investing sector since 2006. She has a particular interest in small sustainable businesses in emerging markets, and has focused (through a family-office supported initiative called "Artha") on building a portfolio and helping find ways to galvanize like-minded 'impact' investors working in "BoP" markets in India. Since 2000, Audrey has worked as a consultant/sub-contractor for both the International Telecommunication Union at the United Nations and USAID, in areas ranging from e-government research and analysis, to trends in telecomms, national/local innovation systems, ICTs and human rights, to the evolution of 3G mobile standards. Audrey has abackground in management consulting from PricewaterhouseCoopers. Her entrepreneurial experience includes several years spent in business development, marketing and sales at an NSF-funded software start-up called Wireless Grids Corporation. She currently serves as a trustee for several non-profit organizations, and holds a PhD in Technology Policy & Development Studies from The Fletcher School, as well as degrees from The London School of Economics and Wellesley College. In 2003-4 she was a doctoral fellow at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.

Unreasonable Institute

The Unreasonable Institute is a mentor-intensive acceleration program for entrepreneurs tackling social and environmental problems. Each year, Unreasonable unites 25 entrepreneurs from every corner of the globe to live under the same roof for eight weeks. These entrepreneurs receive training from 60 world-class mentors, ranging from the co-founder of Google.org to an entrepreneur who's lifted over 24 million farmers out of poverty. In the process, they form relationships with 30 investment funds, receive legal advice & design consulting, and pitch to hundreds of investors and partners in five U.S. cities. Our job is to ultimately give wings to those few ventures future generations will remember as having defined progress in our time.
