Pro Mujer to Celebrate 20th Anniversary with Special Concert

On March 24th, 2011, Pro Mujer will join forces with Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra and The Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas (POA) for a 20th anniversary celebration concert at Alice Tully Hall. This special event will honor Pro Mujer’s Co-Founders, Lynne Patterson and Carmen Velasco, and commemorate Pro Mujer’s 20-year trajectory of empowering more than 1,000,000 women to lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

De la Parra will lead the principal players of the POA in Barber’s “Knoxville: Summer of 1915” with Emily Albrink as soprano soloist. Charles Ives’ hauntingly beautiful “Unanswered Question” and the “Concerto for Chamber Orchestra,” by New York-based Swiss composer Daniel Schnyder, will also be featured.

Please join the Co-Founders, all five of our Country Directors, staff, and longtime friends and supporters in commemorating this incredible milestone.
